Two arrested with Rs 50 million worth of opium

August 8, Kathmandu. Police have arrested two persons along with 6 kg of opium. Among the arrested are Dilip Bishwakarma of Jajarkot and Pramila Raut of Jajarkot.

A team from the Metropolitan Crime Branch, Baneshwor, arrested them. According to SSP Deepak Thapa, they were carrying office bags for sale in Kathmandu.

According to Thapa, 6 kg of opium was found in the bag.

According to Thapa, the opium recovered may have been brought from Rolpa or Rukum. Opium is used to make brown sugar.

They were about to sell opium at Rs 800,000 per kg. It has been revealed that it was brought from the district at Rs one lakh per kg.
